BFA Majors, Course Requirements & Advisement Checklists:

BFA Degrees are a total of 132 credits; 84 credits within the major, and a 48 credit liberal art core as stipulated below. Students are encouraged to print out a checklist for their major and meet with their department advisor every semester. Major checklists are provided at the bottom of this page as PDF files, however, these are only to be used as guidelines.
You must meet with your advisor and obtain your official advising report from your UIS in order to best determine your status.

 BFA in Fine Arts
84 semester hours including: ART 1110,1130,1200, 1210, 1510, 1710, 1720, 2120, 2220, 2230, 2310, 2320, 2520, 2750, 2790, 2800, 3240, 3350, 3560, 4110; 1135 or 1105; 4909 (nine-credit internship), or 4125 (nine credit Creative Thesis); plus twelve elective credits from the approved ART elective list as recommended by the department advisor.

BFA in Illustration
84 semester hours including: ART 1110, 1105, 1130, 1200, 1210, 1270, 1280, 2220, 2230, 2240, 2310 or 2320 or 3340, 1710, 1720, 2145, 2265, 2280, 2750, 3110, 3570, 4115; 4909 (nine-credit internship) or 4125 (nine-credit Creative Thesis), plus 15 elective credits from the approved ART electives list as recommended by department advisor.

84 semester hours including: ART 1110, 1105, 1115, 1130, 1200, 1510, 1710, 1720, 2115, 2120, 2125, 2130, 2145, 2750, 3110, 3115, 3120, 3125, 3135, 3350, 4120; 4909 (nine-credit internship), or 4125 (nine credit Creative Thesis), plus 12 elective credits from the approved ART elective list as recommended by department advisor.
